I honestly really like my internship, we all work together and get along great. Pablo is really supportive and really cares for what we have to say. We are creating a youth organization for teens around our area. It has been very exciting and I have gotten to know the people I am working with in a better way. This week Nataly joined us and it evened out the girls and guys a little. We have broken up into small pairs to work on a certain workshop mine is Public Speaking and it is a place i feel most comfortable with. On Friday we did get a tour around the bottom floors of St. Johns and it is bigger than I expected it to be. As of now we haven't done too much so I can't really share a lot of activities we have done.
My internship is great i really enjoy being part of it specially with people that tend to think the same way i do. We have created a very safe environment in which we are all comfortable speaking out minds without getting laughed at. we also took a tour around the whole clinic which was very fun we saw all the different cool rooms they have. We are also learning how to put together and organize health workshops.
My internship is turning out really cool. We all get along great with each other. We all listened to everything we have to say. We got split up into three different workshops. I am in the health disparities workshop. The other two workshops are police brutality and public speaking which the others got put into. Last week Nataly joined us in community outreach and it is really great having her there. The other day Pablo gave us a tour inside the actual clinic and i never knew it was a dentist until that day. Overall everything is going really good at my internship.
We are still working on organizing are workshops i am partnered up with Oscar and we will have to create a specific workshop on health disparitites. We have decided to make a map of all the unhealthy fast food resurants around our community. On Wednesday we worked on researching all day. For lunch we went to buffalonwild wings and had a very time.
Internship was great this past week. we got to experience a full day of work on wednesday and it was really fun. Almost all of the interns at St. Johns, Pablo, and Andrina we all went to Buffalo Wild Wings. It was my first time there and it was great. We are working on our conference for May and i really like that we are creating these workshops to inform teens of different issues that are around us, but we are not aware of. So far everything is great at my internship.
This week was really interesting, the whole day at the internship day was pretty amazing. I really love everyone in my internship so the day went by pretty fast. We all went out to eat for lunch so that was really nice of them as well. Me and Nerry began our plan for our workshop. We pretty much have finished everything and have everything ready. The communications person has to go over our summary about our workshop and we will have to practice with everyone else. This Saturday we will go on a hike and meet the other interns from other schools. We are all pretty excited since Pablo did say events like these are very important.
At our internship Juan and I got partnered up into the Health Disparities workshop while the others got put into other workshops. On Wednesday we were working on the workshops the whole day in the break room. For lunch Pablo and Andrina took us to Buffalo Wild Wings. On Friday we continued working on our workshops. Juan and I came up with a activity which has to do with people buying their lunch with a limited amount of money. Overall everything is nice and easy.
Last week in my internship we are still working on conference and we have gone far with it and we need to get all these people together and see who from the teacher will go to the meeting and i have to come up with the list but over all it is going good
This week was hard for me because I didnt go to my internship the entire week due to me getting really really sick. So I missed the opportunity of working the entire day with St. Johns. I went this Friday and I did some catching up with my group and we are working in police brutality. I also got my badge because I was the only one that didnt have it. I am really exited to go on the hike this Saturday with the other interns that work with St. Johns.
