  1. Last week we had a presentations on one of the projects they focus on. People not pozos. There all people drilling for oil all around the community that are making people very sick and can be very dangerous for several other reasons. I think it's very interesting especially after learning about my own political ideology. The people in charge are all about advocating and change just like myself.

  2. The first two weeks in Esperanza Community Housing was great. The first week we had the chance to meet everyone in the organization and get to know our supervisor well. Then our supervisor told us background information about the organization through a power point and videos. She also gave us an insight at the different buildings Esperanza owns which help low income families receive affordable 3 bedroom apartments. The buildings/apartments were really nice and historical. She also showed us the community gardens they build, which were really nice. She told us that hopefully we have the chance to plant new plants in the gardens.

  3. Last week in Esperanza was fun. We went to one of their community gardens and re-planted seeds of fruit, vegetables and other plants. It was nice to replant the garden so the community can have fresh and organic fruits.

  4. Last week, Sandy took us once again to the park they created to fix up the garden. We planted more fruits and vegetables. I'm not much of a gardening person but i thought it was a good experience. I loved how all the different plants had such strong and unique smells and were really growing. We spent most of the day just hanging out with Sandy and getting to know her. She told us more about their work environment and we get to hang out in the offices and watch the other people work.

  5. This past week working full day at Esperanzas wasn't so bad as i thought it would be. Sadly i got there a little late because the bus wouldn't pass. But as soon as i got there sandie told us how our day would look and basically our day would be all about working in the garden and then taking a rest and take some lunch. Getting to the park their wasn't any parking so we decided to go eat breakfast first. We took a trip to Costco and got something to eat and talked a little. After that we went on to work on the garden Esperanza has created for the community. It was a good experience we all worked together to clean up the garden and plant more vegetables.Me and lisette got into a little water fight lol but overall it was fun spending time with my group.
