  1. This Wednesday what my partners and I did was make baggies for the homeless. I thought the bags they were giving out were so cute! In the baggies we provided shampoo, conditioner, lip balm, lotion, toothpaste and a tooth brush. We also chose icons for some of the resources that we had in a list. I think that was a bit frustrating because we cant make our own icons so we had to make sure the icon were related to the resource. The last thing we did was separate clothes like Men, Women and children. We got dismissed early since we finished everything pretty quick!

  2. My Internship was fun on friday because it was a chill day were david told us that a few of us were going to be working on resource map and other making phone call organizations to make sure the information was correct or to get information about what services they offer to the homeless people it was scary making phone calls to people because i didnt know what i was going to say so i had to plan out and some people responded with a bad tone and some people were very happy when they responded to the phone call it was very helpful because it gave us confidence to talk to more people.

  3. In my intern we made bags that had shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and toothbrush etc. to give to the homeless . I enjoyed making this bags because it made me realize that they really need it and they would be happy to recieve this from us. On friday i got to call other organization that help homeless people and i had to get information on what they do to help people in need. Its been a good experience so far even tho i get shy to make the calls but i did it and we are still finding out of more organizations that help the homeless

  4. This week that passed me and my partners made bags for the homeless and organized clothes that people donated in a closet at St. Johns. We also chose icons that would help us filter organizations better. This Friday was good as well because I was inputting more resources into our fusion table while Cynthia and Bryan were making phone calls to organizations to see what programs they provide for the homeless. Some people were rude others were really helpful and we found out more information to input into our fusion table by making those phone calls.

  5. This friday was really irritating to me because it was difficult to get to the St. Johns that was all the way in Watts. First we thought David was gonna come for us and next thing you know we needed to go by ourselves all the way over there. We got there around like 2 something and it was really hot. David basically showed us around and we basically walked around for like 30 min. I guess it was okay...once again.

  6. On Wednesday David didnt come but we got a chance to go with title 10 which was a good experience . I learned more about the different disease that a women can get. I learned the difference between a womans condom and a guys condom. But other than that in the beginning we were working on finding information in the internet. We had to find icons for the different organization to help homeless people

  7. Wednesday David didn't go to work because he was feeling sick. At the beginning of the day I had nothing to do since David wasn't there but then Pablo found a laptop so that me and Cynthia could work on our fusion table resource project. Me and Cynthia input some information (programs/organizations that provide resources for the homeless people) but then Andrina from Title 10 took us into a room and taught us a lot of things. She gave us information about stds, male condoms and female condoms, and birth control methods. We had a condom relay and after that we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and it was my first time there and the food was good.

On Friday it was really stressful because we had to go all the way to Watts and it took us an hour to get there because the buses took long. Ana also told me and Bryan to get off on Avalon and Century because she panicked since she was using her phone for GPS but then it froze and then we had to walk 20 minutes to the Mobile clinic. It was hot and when we got there David took us for a walk around the neighborhood where we will be doing outreach. He told us where to go and where not to go. We cannot go to the projects on Imperial because there are a lot of gang members and there are people who would recruit girls into prostitution and David's main priority is safety. We also watched David do outreach to three people, it seemed easy but that's because he's been doing it for a while. We also chilled and talked about college.

We will be doing outreach this Wednesday at Imperial and Vermont. On Friday we will go to Imperial and Vermont again but this time be at the mobile clinic and work on our fusion table. (:
